Seven turnovers!
Are you kidding?!
Seven turnovers are their lowest recorded in a game this season. Not to mention this is their first game recording a single-digit turnover performance. At least three fewer in a game than in the entire rest of the season.
As head coach Steve Kerr mentioned in the press conference after the game “They executed the game plan perfectly.”
Last night’s win can be summed up in three words effort, focus, and energy. The Warriors were able to set the tempo by taking care of the basketball. They decided what pace was necessary for their ultimate success throughout the game.
A majority of that success was led by the efforts of Steph Curry.
The man put in a shift last night. 50 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Curry gave us the greatest performance in a game 7 in the history of basketball.
A game that will go down in history as one of the all-time great performances by a single player.
With that being said a lot of people may overlook in my opinion what was his best statistic of the night. One turnover! The greatest shooter of all time took care of the basketball last night and through his efforts made everyone watching believe that he would not let his team lose.
Big props to Kevon Looney.
21 rebounds in total last night. 10 offensive boards and 11 defensive boards. His performance on the boards last night demoralized the King’s players. Knowing that in all likelihood the other team is going to get multiple attempts to score per possession will take the wind right out of your sales.
Kevon Looney without a doubt was the unsung hero of Game 7.
If the Warriors can repeat that performance in regards to turnovers they will be successful going forward against the Lakers in the second round.
