They taught me a crucial lesson at a very young age.
“Always say thank you, even when it isn’t necessary.”
This is a rule I’ve lived by my entire life.
After every game, every practice, every class, and every form of help or instruction I would say thank you.
No matter what, I’ll always say thank you.
Even if their help or instruction isn’t necessarily helpful to my current situation I’ll still say thank you.
What I’ve learned: It’s the right thing to do.
This is a rule I will live by for the rest of my life.
When a person goes out of their way to help you in any way, shape, or form the right thing to do is show your appreciation by saying ‘thank you.’
You might be asking yourself ‘How could you possibly know that saying thank you is the right thing to do in all circumstances?”
The answer: feedback from personal experiences.
I can’t count how many times coaches, teachers, or random people on the street have responded to my ‘thank you’ by saying “I really appreciate you saying thank you. It means a lot.”
People want to feel appreciated for the work they do.
Why not show your appreciation by saying ‘thank you?’
It’s the right thing to do.
