School was life back then.
Every weekday and every weekend consisted of visiting different buildings across campus and finding places within them to study. If either one of us had a test we both devoted hours of our time to make sure that person was prepared.
Without a test shortly meant a silent grind.
We’d both put headphones in and go to work. Something is motivating about a person sitting next to you during a study session. You achieve a higher level of focus.
Without her, my school achievements would have been nothing short of laughable.
She was the person who taught me how to embrace the challenge of succeeding in school. Before we met I couldn’t care less about my grades. She taught me that there is value in the effort to learn. No matter the grade received.
The trajectory of my working life can be attributed to the values that I learned that first year.
Any future success, I owe to her.
